Boom Welcomes New Graphic Designer
As if two Graphic Designers weren’t enough for us, we’ve gone and hired a third! Boom are very excited to welcome Jan to our ever-growing team.
Jan’s interest in graphic & web design grew through self-education in early secondary school, building up to voluntary and later freelance work that saw him set up a print & web design partnership, working with a web startup at the Google Campus in Shoreditch, and eventually decide to study Art & Design at Loughborough University’s School of the Arts. There he found a part-time position in the Student Union’s marketing design team, also voluntarily contributing as assistant designer of the Union magazine, and later working as head of design at the local independent student publication, alongside a steady stream of freelance web design projects.
Between various voluntary and freelance work, Jan decided to take a dive into full-time design work to further stretch his knowledge of the industry.
“I leapt at the chance to join Boom, as an opportunity to explore and develop my skills in front-end web development and design, and to build some real experience working full-time within a design team. Since signing up it’s been a steep, mostly self-inflicted, learning curve, and I’m loving the challenge.”
Our Director, Ian said “We’re really pleased to welcome such a bright guy to the team. Some of the things Jan has already designed and developed in his own time really impressed us and his coding knowledge adds another dimension to the type of content we can produce for our clients. We’re looking forward to see what Jan brings to the Design team!”
