Nest is a cosy boutique gift shop nestled in the leafy outskirts of Leicester, offering an impressive range of over 20,000 handpicked treasures, ranging from stylish bags and scarves to cute gifts for your home, kitchen and bathroom.
The Challenge
Increase website visibility to invest in growth
While Nest have brought in a substantial revenue from third-party sellers, such as Not On The High Street and Etsy, a notable chunk of their profits were being lost to commission payouts to these vendors.
Nest aimed to unlock the potential of direct sales by partnering with a specialist home retail digital marketing agency. By using a combination of Google Analytics, SEO, and PPC, they sought to reclaim their lost revenue and propel their business growth.
The challenge became a tad more complicated when we factored in a bespoke eCommerce platform, requiring us to venture beyond our comfort zone in order to unravel the right marketing strategy in a very competitive home gift market.

What We Did
After a thorough SEO audit covering technical SEO, Paid Media, Content, and UX, we uncovered and acted upon several opportunities. From launching new shopping campaigns, discovering top-selling products, and optimising the shopping feed we hoped to enhance product visibility and drive more traffic to key products.
Additionally, we introduced Facebook ads and remarketing campaigns to boost return visits, increase conversion rates, and enhance ROAS and revenue, especially during crucial seasonal events like Christmas and Halloween.
On the SEO front, we focused on the opportunities revealed in our comprehensive SEO audit; boosting the technical SEO foundations to help kick start keyword visibility and attract high-intent users. In addition we worked on optimising the on-page content of key areas on the site, using natural language processing to help improve relevance and rankings.

Almost immediately, Nest saw a massive boost in revenue and visibility – seeing pages that didn’t previously rank hit page one on Google within a few short months.
We were also able to achieve a 118% increase in transactions (year on year) from paid advertising and saw an impressive 136% surge in organic transactions too!
