Boosting Revenue and ROAS for an online tools store

The Challenge

Improve revenue and ROAS

Whilst Elson’s Google Ads was already set up it wasn’t really optimised for success. This, coupled with the client’s tight margins and a very extensive product range presented a decent challenge for our PPC team – who were more than up for the task!

Our key aims were:

  • Increase revenue.
  • Reach a ROAS (return on ad spend) of around 3–5%.

What We Did

The first thing we did was to optimise their Google Ads setup by using inventory filters, ensuring that their products weren’t being duplicated across more than one campaign.

Working with Elson’s we looked to remove any product ranges that returned poor margins, had low stock, or simply weren’t a priority for them.

The Results

Our optimisations to Google Ads help to achieve a 20–33 ROAS, every month for a year, and we even exceeding it during their peak selling seasons.

Revenue also followed with a record-breaking improvement of nearly 700% for their Q1 year on year!
